Dr. Gates, a former Troop 103 Assistant Scoutmaster, while a student in the College of William & Mary visited his old Troop in May to help celebrate the 100 years of continuous Scouting of Troop 103!

Thank you to WUMC for hosting the visit and for providing live video streaming and AV assets to make the event a success.

It was great having Dr. Gates visit the Troop!

Other notable guests included Stuart Hughes II, former Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) of the Troop in 1965 and the first recipient of the Landis-Morrell-Gates (L-M-G) Leadership award. Mr. Hughes helped Mr. Gates present the L-M-G award to this year’s recipient and current SPL Thomas Berquist. Other guests included former State Senator Tommy Norment and former Troop 103 Scout, Mr. David Nunn, the longest continuously serving former Scoutmaster of the Troop, and others from the 1960s classes of Troop 103 Scouts.

A great event!
